The Central Environment Authority (CEA) has stated that environmental clearance has not been granted for the proposed cable car project to be implemented at the Sri Pada site.
Responding to a question on whether any approval has been given for a cable car project at the Sri Pada site, Central Environment Authority Director General Kapila Rajapaksa confirmed this.
Attention has been focused on introducing a cable car project at the Sri Pada site for some time as part of the effort to improve the country’s tourism infrastructure.
