The Sri Lanka Divisional Secretaries and Assistant Divisional Secretaries Association has written to the Presidential Secretary, Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, expressing its opposition to the appointment of political representatives as Clean Sri Lanka Coordinators to the Divisional Secretariats.
It has also been emphasized that the Presidential Secretariat cannot provide physical facilities, including a chair and a table, to these individuals who have been nominated.
The Divisional Secretaries Association, which states that it is not possible to provide honest public service by having a representative of a political party in a Divisional Secretariat, has requested the Presidential Secretariat to withdraw this decision without affecting the independence of the public service.
