IMF, Sri Lanka Agree on Fifth and Sixth Reviews

The International Monetary Fund and the Sri Lankan authorities have reached an agreement at the official level to conclude the joint fifth and sixth reviews under the Comprehensive Fund Facility for Sri Lanka.

Following the approval of the review by the IMF Executive Board, Sri Lanka will be eligible for approximately US$700 million in financing.

An IMF mission led by Evan Papageorgiou, the IMF’s Country Manager for Sri Lanka, visited Sri Lanka from March 26 to April 9. Issuing a statement at the end of the visit, he said that the total financial assistance provided to Sri Lanka so far will increase to US$2.4 billion following the Executive Board’s approval.
