Fuel quota provided under QR quota increases .

The weekly fuel quota provided under the National Fuel Permit (QR) system has been increased with effect from midnight today.

This decision has been taken considering the requests made by public transport services as well as private vehicle owners.

According to the new amendment, the fuel quotas are as follows:

Buses: The weekly quota has been increased by 40 liters, and accordingly the new quota is 100 liters.

Cars: Increased from 15 liters to 25 liters.

Three-wheelers: The weekly quota has increased to 20 liters with an increase of 5 liters.

Motorcycles: The previous limit of 5 liters has been increased to 8 liters.

Vans: Increased by 10 liters.

The quota for land vehicles has been increased by 15 liters.

However, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation further states that there will be no change in the existing fuel quotas for lorries and special purpose vehicles.
