In view of the landslide red notice issued by the National Building Research Organization yesterday (20) afternoon due to the ongoing heavy rainfall, steps have been taken to direct families in 3 Divisional Secretariat Divisions of 3 districts to safer places, says Director of the Disaster Management Center, Priyantha Kodippili.
Accordingly, 40 families in the Ududumbara Bambara Bedda area of the Kandy district, 02 families in the Kovil Kanda area of the Kegalle district and 05 families in the Ambanganga Korale Kalugaltenna area of the Matale district have been directed to safer places.
In addition, the National Building Research Organization has taken steps to issue landslide red notices in 4 districts under two stages due to the ongoing heavy rainfall.
The districts and the relevant Divisional Secretariat Divisions are as follows.
