Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala said that 15,000 Civil Defence personnel will be immediately reassigned to other departments to enhance the efficiency and public security of the Department.
Elaborating further, he said that about 5,000 Civil Defence personnel will be released to the Wildlife Department and another 10,000 to the Police Department.
He said this during an inspection tour of the Civil Defence Headquarters.
