The Sinhala Association of Buddhist Organizations says that the imprisoned Kassapa Thero and the Maha Sangha are currently in a critical condition after contracting the viral fever that is spreading in the prison hospital.
A spokesperson for the association said that the monks are walking with great difficulty and have not shown the same vitality as before even when talking.
In light of this situation, the Sinhala Association of Buddhist Organizations stressed that the government, prison authorities and relevant officials should take responsibility for the health of the four monks and others in prison.
