It is reported that a discussion between the President and several education trade unions is scheduled to be held today (13). It is reported that attention will be paid to issues related to the new education reforms.
However, some trade unions say that calling for this discussion is questionable. Commenting on the matter, the General Secretary of the Lanka Independent Teachers’ Union, Chandimal Wijeratne, said:
“There are groups who agree with whatever the government says. The government is only holding discussions with that group. There is a discussion today. Only these fake anti-reformers have been called to that discussion.”
Meanwhile, the All Ceylon Teachers’ Union has also alleged that the contribution of teacher advisors has been ignored this time regarding the new education reforms or in preparing modules for them.
