Ranga Rajapaksa, Assistant Director of the Department of Foreign Resources of the Ministry of Finance, who was suspended in connection with the incident in which 2.5 million US dollars belonging to the Ministry of Finance fell into the hands of a group of fraudsters, was found dead by the police at his residence in Kuliyapitiya on the 30th. This committee was appointed to investigate the matter after it was believed that the death was suspicious.
The magisterial inquest into the incident was held yesterday and the post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday at the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital.
