A special meeting was held yesterday between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and UNICEF representatives. A special focus was placed on the schools affected by the disaster during this meeting.
The Prime Minister drew the attention of UNICEF representatives to the schools operating in areas at risk of landslides. The Prime Minister said that the government will focus on relocating such schools to suitable locations as it is dangerous to reopen schools in the identified landslide-prone areas.
