The Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama Court recently ordered the release of former Chairman of the Petroleum Corporation Dhammika Ranatunga, who was arrested by the Bribery Commission, on bail.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate issued this order after considering the arguments presented by the Bribery Commission officials and the suspect’s lawyers.
The Bribery Commission also informed the court that it will take steps to arrest former Petroleum Minister Arjuna Ranatunga as a suspect in this incident and present him before the court.
