The Sri Lanka United Grama Niladharis Association says that Grama Niladharis are facing political obstacles to act independently in the process of providing relief to disaster victims.
Its President Nandana Ranasinghe said that various political pressures are increasing on Grama Niladharis in carrying out the relief process independently. The President of the Stambada Grama Niladharis Association emphasized that if such obstacles continue, they will have to engage in trade union action.
