A meeting was held between the United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya in Parliament today (24).
During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed the UN Peace Corps educational and cultural exchange program and the progress of other cooperation programs.
She also emphasized the strengthening of educational ties between the two countries through the Fulbright International Scholarship Exchange Program.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to increase technical expertise in the fields of the Ministry of Education, the Department of Examinations and the National Institute of Education for the upcoming educational reforms.
