Watagala proposes to change the name of the Southern Province to Iceland

Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala has expressed his views on the discovery of drugs in the Southern Province. Accordingly, he says that the Southern Province will have to be called Iceland. He also says that the drugs found in that province are in bags and it is not even possible to determine whether they are powder or flour. He said this while addressing the Moratuwa Regional Coordination Meeting held yesterday (12).

Expressing further views, the Minister said:

”The root of the illegal arms trade, drugs and ice smuggling was in Diyawanna. After our President came, the head in Diyawanna was removed. After it was removed, the head called politics was removed from this illegal activity. Now look at these photos, you can’t tell if these are powder or flour. What will happen to us if this amount goes viral on social media, whether it was brought to bake bread or not. These are just like bags of rice. I don’t know what has happened to this south. We have to say Iceland.”
