Finance Ministry Secretary Harshana Suriyaperuma has informed his opinion to the court through an affidavit regarding the liquor licenses issued during the tenure of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Finance Ministry Secretary has informed the court through an affidavit that the list of liquor licenses is legal and has been provided in the correct manner, says Waruna Rajapaksa. Waruna Rajapaksa stated this while uploading a video to his Countdown with Waruna internet channel.
Minister Nalinda Jayatissa was accused in Parliament of giving these licenses to politicians, and a group including President’s Counsel Saliya Peers filed a petition in court requesting that the issuance of these licenses be immediately suspended as it was wrong.
