The Ministry of Education says that those who have obtained substandard Bachelor of Education degrees will not be recruited into the teaching service in the future.
Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Madura Seneviratne states that a committee has investigated the standard of Bachelor of Education degrees offered by private universities and its report has now been received by the ministry.
The Deputy Minister further stated that information has been collected regarding those who have joined the teaching service after obtaining substandard Bachelor of Education degrees.
