Murder case against Janaka Bandara Tennakoon to be heard on 3rd

The Supreme Court has set September 3rd as the date for hearing a special appeal petition in a case filed against former Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon.

This petition has been filed against the Court of Appeal’s decision quashing the indictment filed by the Attorney General before the Kandy High Court on charges of shooting and killing an 18-year-old youth and attempted murder.

This special appeal petition filed by the Attorney General was heard before a three-judge bench comprising Justices Jagath de Silva, Mahinda Samayawardena and Justice Sobitha Rajakaruna.
