When Manusha Comes to Nuwara Eliya, Sajith Gives Mano Ganesan’s Place to Navin

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has appointed Navin Dissanayake to replace Tamil Progressive Alliance leader Mano Ganesan, who previously managed the SJB’s Nuwara Eliya district organization.

At a press conference, Mayantha Dissanayake announced that he had received the letter regarding his new appointment from party leader Sajith Premadasa. Mayantha represents the Nuwara Eliya district as a National List MP.

Political sources indicate that this change has caused tension between representatives of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and other minority party representatives within the SJB. Since its inception, the Tamil Progressive Alliance has been allied with the SJB and has actively supported the opposition.

Vadivel Suresh, another plantation sector leader, along with opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, left the SJB, citing a lack of respect for minority groups. Suresh is now working with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

In the meantime, Labor and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara plans to hold his Jayagamu Sri Lanka People’s Mobile Service event in Nuwara Eliya on the 17th and 18th of May.
