Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seriously criticized the decision taken by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s government to hand over the island of Kachchathiv to Sri Lanka.
Citing a whistle-blowing report, the Indian prime minister described the 1974 handover of Kachchati Island by India to Sri Lanka as an “eye-opening and surprising” deal.
He accused the old grand party Congress party of weakening the integrity and interests of the country. He also states that the handover of Kachchathiv by the Congress government has angered every Indian.
