Varuna Rajapaksa, former member of the provincial council of the United National Party, says that the country is being taken backwards by the manifesto of the National People’s power. He said this while joining a political discussion on the Chatham Street Journal channel.
Presenting the manifesto of the National People’s Power, he pointed out that strategies should be launched to prevent the transition from cooking with wood to cooking with electric ovens. This is shown under the economic policy of the Manifesto of National People’s Power.
At a time when the whole world accepts that cooking with wood is harmful to health and causes environmental problems, he asked what is the idea behind this idea.
Its executive member Chaturanga Abeysinghe, who participated in the discussion representing the National People’s Power, failed to answer it and said that he would present a detailed statement in the future. Watch the interview below.
