The Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Levan Jagarian, said in a statement that the bill on the security of online systems passed by the majority vote of the Parliament is an internal matter of Sri Lanka and there is no need for foreign interference.
He said that it is Russia’s opinion that the interference of representatives of foreign countries in this country by expressing their views on the draft bill is absolutely unacceptable and that the internal issues of Sri Lanka are not a matter for them.
The Russian ambassador further said that the imposition of regulations on the security of online systems is an internal issue in Sri Lanka and that the Russian embassy paid attention to the views expressed by local politicians and officials representing foreign countries in this country.
