Expressing confidence in this regard, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe said that it has been planned to provide Kekulu and Nadu rice in this way.
“We are going to give 20 kilos of rice to government employees. There is a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture to give 20 kilos of rice to government employees at a slightly reduced price. These 20 kilos will be given in two 10 kilo packets as a payment method. A voucher will be given. The same way that the government can buy rice from the cooperative. We need a plan to cut the paddy into small pieces to buy from the government. This can be done.”
