Galle district specialist community doctor Amila Chandrasiri says that rat fever is spreading like a severe epidemic in the southern province.
He says that 19 deaths due to rat fever have been reported in Galle district alone this year. Community medical expert Amila Chandrasiri said that people who work in dirty water, wet environment or any work related to mud are at risk of getting infected with rat fever.
