India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are shaken by the same earthquake

A strong earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, the German Research Center for Geology (GFZ) said.

The earthquake was felt in parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, and panicked residents gathered on the roads for safety, according to foreign media. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties from the earthquake.

Pakistan’s Meteorological Department told Al Jazeera that the earthquake measured 6.8 on the Richter scale and was centered in the Hindu Kush mountain range near Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan.
