Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association states that even if the price of diesel is reduced, bus fares cannot be reduced.
Mr. Gemunu Wijeratne, its chairman, said that the bus fares were not increased even though the price of diesel increased during the last price revision, so the fares cannot be revised this time.
