A woman has been reported to have been murdered by a person in the 12th pillar area of Hulannuge in the Pottuvil police division.
The murder was committed yesterday afternoon, and the person killed the woman by hitting her head with a hoe, the police said.
The deceased is a 55-year-old woman residing in the Hulannuge, Pottuvil area. The investigation currently underway has revealed that this crime was committed over a personal dispute.
It is reported that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, and he is a 59-year-old man. The Pottuvil police are conducting further investigations.
