Former MP Wasantha Yapa Bandara says that he is questioning Deputy Minister Nalin Hewage whether every household can get a Vitz car for 1.2 million rupees after the next budget.
He said that he had stated on the election platform at that time that a Vitz car could be bought for 1.2 million rupees and that the people also voted for the National People’s Power.
In early November last year, Mr. Nalin Hewage said that a Japanese Vitz car could be brought to Sri Lanka for 1.2 million rupees and that if it was brought in that way, everyone could buy it.
However, he alleged that the government was charging a tax of about 7.8 million rupees for those vehicles and that the people were not able to buy a vehicle because of the high price of vehicles but because of the rogue rulers.
He expressed these views while addressing a media conference held in the Kandy area. see the vedios published bellow
