Brandix says that no decision has been taken to move the parent company of Brandix out of the country to Bangladesh.
Commenting on the media reports about the company’s withdrawal from Sri Lanka, the media spokesperson of the company said this. Commenting on the news of factory closures, Brandix’s media spokesperson said that only the Welisara factory has been closed so far in 2023.
He said that the decision was the result of a long-term plan rather than a sudden decision, and that the factory had to be closed due to a 30% decrease in global demand for ready-made garments. He further said that no new factories have been established in Bangladesh and only the factory established in 2013 by his company is in Bangladesh.
