The case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa was taken up today at the Colombo High Court. The accused, Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa—who are currently released on bail—appeared in court for the proceedings.
The Bribery Commission filed this case alleging that the accused committed the offense of corruption by sending Yoshitha Rajapaksa for training at the Royal Navy training college in Britain despite him not meeting the required qualifications.
After considering the submissions made, the court ordered that the case be listed for a pre-trial conference.
