The Ceylon Electricity Board decided to cut off the electricity supply at the historical Dickwella Vavrukannala temple due to the electricity bill being one million fifty four thousand one hundred and eighteen rupees.
The temple has many features including a hundred cubits tall budhdha statue and a tunnel temple depicting scenes of hell. According to the report, local and foreign devotees come to this temple from all over the island and a lot of money is received as donations.
