The Federation of University Lecturers has begun a one-day strike in all universities today (30), alleging that the government has not provided solutions to their problems. Due to this, it is reported that lectures have not been held in universities.
The strike has been initiated based on several issues including the shortage of lecturers that has emerged in the background of university lecturers leaving the country and not recruiting them properly, the salary problem, the lack of improvement in the facilities of the university system, and the continued low level of allocations for research.
The Federation of University Lecturers says that despite discussions with government authorities on several occasions regarding their problems, no positive solution has been found so far. The lecturers engaged in protests in front of the universities this afternoon, demanding immediate solutions to their problems.
