Two women were reported to have died and several others injured in a road accident on the Southern Expressway this afternoon.
The accident occurred near the 175th kilometer post in the Angunakolapelessa area after a tire burst in a van traveling from Mattala to Colombo.
There were six people in the van at the time of the incident. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
