Wennappuwa Headquarter Police states that two female teachers of Wennappuwa Martin de Porus College have been arrested in connection with the death of her who was treated unconsciously for three months at Ragama Teaching Hospital.
A fifty-seven-year-old teacher from Martin de Porus Mawatha and a 39-year-old teacher from Lunuwila Kirimatiyana area have been arrested. These two teachers, who were initially arrested in connection with the incident, were later released on bail.
Last August 9th, this student and another student were beaten up by the teachers for disciplinary reasons. Later, the two students were used to weed the grass in the school grounds.
