A shooting occurred in front of a house in the Nadun Uyana area of Muthuhenawatta, Meegoda at around 10 pm last night (13). Two masked men on a motorcycle fired shots into the air and fled.
The shooting was carried out with a pistol-type firearm that used nine-millimeter bullets. The gunmen fled after the shooting. Meegoda Police are conducting further investigations.
A shooting also occurred in the Pahasgama area of Hanwella last night (13). One person was slightly injured. Two men on a motorcycle fired the shots and fled.
The person who was injured in the shooting is receiving treatment at the Avissawella Hospital. He is a 55-year-old resident of Thunnana.
