The Railway Department has informed that trains will run from Colombo Fort to Nattandiya as the repair work on the Puttalam line between Kochchikade and Nattandiya has been completed.
Due to the flood situation on the Puttalam line due to the prevailing bad weather, train traffic on that line was limited to only from Colombo Fort to Kochchikade railway station.
However, several railway lines were severely damaged by the disaster and repairs have begun at several damaged points on the upcountry railway line.
