The railway department states that railway employees who do not report for work will be treated as having left the service. By now, several train drivers unions were on strike. Due to that strike, the railway passengers were in great difficulty today as well.
87 train drivers are currently on strike demanding solutions to several service problems including service promotions. The government had issued a gazette announcement last night making the railway service an essential service, but despite that, the strike continued today.
