The government has decided to continue providing Special Task Force security to former Public Security Minister Tiran Alas. This is in response to intelligence reports that he is facing threats to his life.
A journalist had questioned Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa at the press conference held on the 11th about why Tiran Alas is still being provided with STF security when the security of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and other former officials has been reduced.
Responding to this, the Minister said that security provisions are provided based on intelligence reports.
