Three police constables attached to the Maradana Police have been suspended. The three were arrested on information that they had links with a drug trafficker.
On the 23rd, officers of the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau arrested a person with 11,320 milligrams of the drug Ice.
During the examination of the person, it was revealed that the mobile phone in his possession contained the phone numbers and voice recordings of these police officers.
As a result, he was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting a drug trafficker in drug trafficking.
The three constables who were arrested are said to be between the ages of 22, 30 and 32.
Further investigations into them are being conducted by the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.
