Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting that took place on the Wewa Road, not far from Wennappuwa Police Station yesterday. The two arrested are between the ages of 26 and 29.
The two are scheduled to be produced before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court today (01). One person was arrested by the Wennappuwa Police yesterday on suspicion of the shooting. A revolver that he was in possession of was also seized by the police at that time.
The person who died in the shooting was attacked while returning from a case pending in the High Court at the Wennappuwa Police Station. Police sources say that the verdict in the case was scheduled to be delivered on September 09, 2025.
