President Ranil Wickramasinghe emphasized that since this is the last chance for Sri Lanka to move forward, everyone should come together to build a prosperous country for the next generation without blaming each other.

The President also said that the country’s resources have already been wasted and money is needed for the education, health and social security of the poor and vulnerable groups and not for the Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation, Sri Lankan Airlines or Sri Lanka Electricity Board.

He said this while delivering the keynote address at the “IMF and Beyond” discussion pavilion held yesterday at the Golfface Hotel Colombo.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, while addressing the Chief Executive Officer Discussion Forum organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, further stated that the government should focus on creating a prosperous society for the next generation beyond the International Monetary Fund program.
