Thieves flee Louvre Museum, abandon Mona Lisa

A robbery was reported at the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris, France, this morning (19).

The robbery took place shortly after the museum opened for public viewing this morning. It is reported that three people who reached the first floor of the building using an automatic ladder mounted on a truck entered through a window and committed the theft. They completed the theft in as little as 5 minutes and fled on motorcycles.

An investigation has revealed that the group of thieves took nine priceless artifacts from the museum’s Apollo Gallery.

The Louis Musée is home to more than 35,000 valuable artifacts, including Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Police are currently investigating the incident.
