It is reported that Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has handed over the document to President Ranil Wickremesinghe last week, signed by members of the ruling party and the opposition, requesting duty-free vehicle permits.
However, the Speaker says that the President has not responded in this regard so far.
116 members of the ruling party and the opposition are among the people who signed this document requesting the duty-free vehicle license. The Parliamentary House Committee also approved the request to provide a duty-free license to MPs.
