The union said that it has decided to call off the strike called by the Station Master’s Association in protest against the new seat allocation system introduced by the Railway Department.
It is reported that this decision was taken after a discussion held by the Sri Lanka Railway Station Master’s Association with the Secretary of the Ministry of Transport. According to the new system of allotment of seats, it was planned to allot the seats without giving any information to the station masters and the Ministry Secretary agreed to provide a positive solution to the problem, according to the Railway Station Master’s Association.
Accordingly, it has been decided to suspend the emergency trade union action that was scheduled to be held today at 4 pm.
