The lecturer who spread false information about IS terrorists was arrested.

Kotalawala Defense University Lecturer on International Law Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe was arrested yesterday (28) by the Criminal Investigation Department, who said in a program on Hiru TV channel that the names of Sri Lankans who are said to be IS members who came to India to carry out terrorist attacks will be included in the Easter Commission report.

Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe had said in that television program that the names of the four suspects arrested in India are among the names that should be rehabilitated by the Easter Commission report.

But since the names of the four Sri Lankan suspects arrested in India were not recorded in the Esthar Commission, it has been decided to ask Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe about it.

Sources in the Criminal Investigation Department say that Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe apologized for making a baseless statement on television, and accordingly he was arrested and will be presented to the court today.

These four Sri Lankans, who are said to be members of the ISIS organization, were arrested at the Ahmedabad airport by the Gujarat Terrorism Investigation Unit.
