The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to prioritize Sri Lanka’s request for US$200 million under the Emergency Financing Facility (RFI) to address the challenges arising from the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditva.
The IMF has also stated that the assistance under the RFI is in addition to the loan facility provided under Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
An IMF team is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka in early 2026 to resume discussions to complete Sri Lanka’s fifth review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
