The hearing of the fundamental rights petition filed by the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Shani Abeysekara, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, Ravi Seneviratne, seeking an order to prevent their illegal arrest in connection with the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks, has been completed. However, the Supreme Court has postponed the announcement of its verdict.
The hearing of the petition was held before a three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena.
