Venerable Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Thero says that no fee will be paid for electricity consumption in Sri Padasthan under any circumstances. He said that no money was ever charged for the electricity consumed by Sri Padasthan and said that Sri Padasthan has no obligation to pay the electricity bills and will not pay.
However, he also said that an electric generator has already been taken to Udamalwa to get the required electricity for Sri Pada Maluwa. He made these comments in a discussion about the upcoming Sripada Vandana season.
In addition, he said that electricity has been provided for the roads leading to Sri Padasthan without even making a request. Local residents say that electricity has been provided to the road leading to Sripadasthana, proving a ”Bhara” that took place during the construction of the Lakshapana power plant.
