The Kaduwela Magistrate has granted permission to the police to detain and question the two brothers who were arrested for aiding and abetting the murder of a lawyer and his wife in the Akuregoda area until tomorrow.
The two suspects were arrested by the Western South Crime Division in Kottawa yesterday (16) afternoon.
However, during interrogations conducted on them, it has been revealed that the murder was carried out by Dubai Nipuna and Malwane Tutu on the instructions of Karandeniye Sudda.
Meanwhile, a CCTV footage showing the two brothers handing over firearms to the shooters who were stationed near the supermarket in Akuregoda has also been released to the media.
It shows one of the arrested youths coming to them, carrying a bag from the car and handing it to the car where the shooters were waiting.
It also shows them leaving the scene towards Hokandara.
