It is reported that the Ceylon Electricity Board has recently invited tenders for the implementation of hybrid power plant projects in Ninativu Delft or Nandunthivu and Analativu islands near the northern coast of Sri Lanka using a grant of 12 million dollars from India.
In January 2021, Sri Lanka had awarded a contract to a Chinese company, Sinosar-Etechwin, to install a hybrid renewable energy system at Nainative Delft or Nanduntivu and Analativ islands off the coast of Jaffna, but later the Chinese company withdrew from the contract.
