The cause of the Wariyapola air crash has not yet been revealed. Air Force says

The reason for the crash of a Sri Lanka Air Force training jet in the Wariyapola area has not yet been revealed, Air Force Media Spokesperson Group Captain Eranda Geeganage said.

A Sri Lanka Air Force K-8 fighter training jet crashed in the Wariyapola area on March 21 and a seven-member committee was appointed on the instructions of the Air Force Commander to investigate the cause.

However, Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Bimal Ratnayake, who participated in an inspection tour of the Central Expressway last Sunday, said that it was confirmed that an error during training had caused the crash of the training jet. He said that he had obtained a report prepared by the Air Force on this matter through the Defense Secretary, which states this.
